We had the good fortune of connecting with Giovanna Jaspid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Giovanna, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
One of the most important lessons from running my business has been to surround myself with positivity and going with the flow. I have learned to see opportunity in change and handling what comes my way with creativity.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I graduated from architecture school and started Jaspid Studio soon after as a side business for space planning, interior decor and a pillow shop as part of the design services. I am very proud of the business I am continuously creating. Being able to work from home and at the same time being present with my kids its worth the challenge. About Jaspid Studio luxury designer pillow shop: It is an online shop based in Miami Florida. My mother provides her seamstress expertise and we create pillows that are shipped worldwide, all hand made by us. Customers can request custom sizes and specific fabrics. I have enjoyed working and meeting interior designers, architect and home owners all over the world providing them with our design services and custom pillows.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Miami has great weather most of the time so enjoy some outdoor places and check out The Wharf along the Miami River downtown area. Walk Calle 8 and take pictures with the rooster sculptures and go see some art in the design district Wynwood walls. We also like to pass by Key Biscayne and enjoy the Miami Skyline from the shore.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother for working along side with me as my seamstress extraordinaire and my husband for his numbers advice and savvy business skills. Also online community women groups like the theMpire.co and miamimompreneur.com for their daily support to small businesses and last but not least my first business partner Diana Liebowitz for joining me at the beginning of my entrepreneur path.
